Product Sampling Campaigns
BTB Mailflight are ideally geared up to handle product sampling projects. This includes POS
kit collation, tactical sampling campaigns to consumer groups, and fulfiling orders of sample products in response to special offers.
As you can see from the case study to the right of this page we handle regular product sample campaigns
for Elizabeth Arden that involve fulfiling samples of branded products internationally. As
well as
being trusted to handle these prestigious brands we also handle
the customer testing campaigns for Tesco:
History - Tesco wished to move the fulfilment of their customer testing mailings to a larger mailing house as they had outgrown their current supplier and BTB Mailflight were approved as a new supplier with Tesco for this work. Tesco's vetting process is one of the most rigorous we have been through.
Account management - The project involves the mailing of various household items at a quantity of 100 items per campaign. These items are being sent to a targeted group of consumers who are undertaking a review product and supply a report back to Tesco. The project started with four mailings per week with the aim to increase this to 21 mailings per week.
The items for the mailings are sent to us on the day of the mailing via Tesco’s
transport supplier and they follow strict deadlines to send the items to us at set times that have been agreed.
Fulfilment - Staff check that we have received the correct quantity of items and then pack
the items into appropriate packaging, apply labels and mail out via Royal Mail. Occasionally there are items such as hairspray that need to go out using a courier service.
De-tagging - There is the requirement to de-brand products that have been sent to us by Tesco and re-pack them if instructed. This is done in a ‘clean’ secure environment and there are strict guidelines on what staff can wear etc
while de-tagging, for example staff cannot wear any jewellery. This is to prevent any foreign objects being accidentally dropped in with the re-packed
goods.

European Product Sampling Campaigns
Elizabeth Arden’s European marketing team based in Switzerland needed a solution for
distributing product samples across Europe, and Australia!
With BTB Mailflight’s experience we
were able to provide a cost effective and easy to manage solution all controlled by their account
manager at our offices in Bedford.
Our solution encompasses:
- Storage of perfume and cosmetic samples.
- Print management of multiple language literature types to be inserted in pack with sample.
- Process data feeds from websites and produce address labels with appropriate post mark.
- Picking, & packing of daily orders into relevant packaging supplied by BTB Mailflight.
- Distribution across Europe using the best mix of delivery options.
- Weekly reporting of orders by country, sex, media code etc.
We have worked on such prestigious brands as Britney Spears Fantasy, Britney Spears Curious, Maria Carey,
Green Tea, and Gant, mailing over 200,000 samples to date.
