BTB Mailflight Limited is committed to reduce waste; which is the main potential impact we have on our environment. The Directors of the company accept their responsibilities in supporting our policy which is based on the guidelines of BS EN ISO 14001:1996. BTB Mailflight is working towards BS EN ISO 14001:1996 accreditation and is committed to achieving this in 2009.

Our policy is committed to the following:

order fulfilment Reducing the consumption of power.
order fulfilment Recycling waste materials and scrap.
order fulfilment Ensuring that all solvents used by the company do not contain elements of CFC.’s in content or manufacturing process.
order fulfilment Recycling packaging materials as far as practical.
order fulfilment Ensuring that all spent solvents and solutions from the company’s processes are disposed of safely and by an pproved environmental control agency.
order fulfilment Ensuring that the building and surrounds are maintained to prevent energy loss and for ecological protection.
order fulfilment Ensuring that there are no adverse effects to residence and other businesses through pollutants such as: Noise, Fumes or Traffic.
order fulfilment Promoting the environmental concerns to our suppliers by enlisting their support to only obtain raw materials from environmental controlled sources.
order fulfilment Promote training and awareness of staff at all levels on the need to preserve the environment and control the processes and materials used by the company.

Waste Management
BTB Mailflight operates a clean and safe working environment observing and complying with all current Waste Management and Environmental Legislation. BTB recycle where possible and are committed to continually review it’s waste strategy with the intention of increasing the percentage of recycling through segregation and recycling where practicably possible.

BTB Mailflight have an excellent history in all aspects of waste management and maintains all waste records and documentation to a high standard. The last inspection of our premises, working practices, compliance and all documentation was carried out by The Environment Agency in 2006. There were no non-compliances recorded and they were satisfied with all aspects and compliance.

Our current arrangements for the disposal of waste are as follows:

General waste

order fulfilment All offices have paper recycling bins for non-confidential paper.
order fulfilment Save a Cup scheme is in place for the segregation of vending machine cups for recycling.
order fulfilment Office printer cartridges are recycled.
order fulfilment General mixed waste is compacted into a container supplied by Shanks and sent for Landfill.

Cardboard waste
95% of our cardboard is segregated, containerised and collected by Shanks for recycling.

BTB Mailflight’s Own Confidential Waste
On site shredding facilities are arranged by a reputable company and all materials are recycled.

Client waste: Surplus of bulk materials of a non-confidential nature.

Magazines, inserts, envelopes etc are collected by a reputable waste paper merchant for recycling.

Client waste: Surplus polythene reels of film from job runs.
These are collected by a reputable company for recycling.

Client waste: Confidential waste.
The method of disposal of confidential estate is determined by the cost and both are secure.
On site shredding facilities by a reputable company can be arranged and all materials shredded are recycled. Off site shredding facilities by a reputable company can also be arranged and all materials shredded are recycled.

Hazardous waste
BTB are registered with the Environment Agency under the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005.
All Hazardous Waste is collected by an approved agent for safe disposal under the appropriate documentation.
